WELCOME TO COLDHARBOUR COTTAGE :
This year is the 10th since Coldharbour Cottage was converted into a self catering unit. A lot has happened in those few years notably some very important awards…
Coldharbour Cottage won the first prize for the “Tourism ExSellence Award” from the South East Tourist Board back in October 2007. In 2008 a feature story about the Cottage and the Country Tours was mentioned in the popular Activ magazine. In May 2009 the cottage was featured in the Travel Section of the Guardian National Newspaper. It also won the “Tourism ExSellence Award” from the South East Tourist Board in October 2009. In 2010 the Cottage won the NATIONAL Silver Award at an awards ceremony in the Brighton Pavilion in East Sussex.
The cottage was was completely renovated during 2005. all the original features were restored. We found so many gems, a huge ingelnook fireplace, a bakers oven, hidden fireplaces, cupboards and lots of interesting pieces under the floor boards – all on display now in the various rooms in the cottage. !
You can relax in the living room in front of the open fireplace, or take in the parlour where you can sit in this quiet room reading a book and just relaxing. The big kitchen is equipped with a lovely Aga Oven (easy to use!) and plenty of space for family meals. The Garden Room is a firm favourite too with fantastic views out across the farm towards the Rother Valley as far as the eye can see to the English Channel. The cottage can sleep up to 4 people and we have a Sofa Double Bed in the Parlour for 2 additional guests.
Outside there is so much to do and see. The Farm has over 200 sheep, some pigs and a few chickens . The Farmers visit the site everyday and are always willing to speak and help explain the life on the Farm. There are some lovely walks around the Farm, a History Tour where you can win a prize and a Kids Quiz too!
Come and join us and experience life in a little cottage on the hill.
