Southern Hawker Dragonfly

A walk around the Farm, keep your eyes open and wow you always see something!

This time it was this amazing dragonfly feasting on some wild blackberries.

Did you know dragonflies can fly backwards ?

They are also one of the largest and fastest flying dragonflies so I was quite chuffed to get this close to take the photo. The southern hawker is a large hawker dragonfly and common to this area around ponds, lakes and lowlands.
